SAN FRANCISCO (15 November 2018) – Glass Lewis, the leading independent provider of global governance services, named Andrew Gebelin as Vice President, Research, Engagement and Stewardship and Kern McPherson as Vice President, Research and Engagement.

These promotions reflect their leading contributions and ongoing oversight of the research, engagement and stewardship activities within their respective regions. Andrew will remain focused on EMEA and Latin America, and Kern will continue to be responsible for North America. Importantly, these new positions establish their roles as part of the global leadership team at Glass Lewis and further strengthen the connection between the research organization and our investor clients. Both will continue to report to SVP, Research and Engagement, Aaron Bertinetti.

Andrew Gebelin joined Glass Lewis in 2006, and during his tenure has distinguished himself as both a research analyst covering dozens of markets in EMEA and Latin America, and an organizational leader building and managing teams in Glass Lewis’ offices in the U.S. and Ireland. He currently leads the company’s largest research organization, the Limerick-based team of more than 100 employees covering approximately 4,000 corporate issuers. Andrew is also the primary owner of Glass Lewis’ client and issuer engagement activities across the region, utilizing his fluency in five languages and more than a decade’s worth of experience analyzing local companies.

Kern McPherson has been with Glass Lewis for 9 years, with deep policy experience as an analyst covering governance, executive compensation and ESG issues across thousands of companies within the United States and Canada, and as the leader of the North American research and engagement team since 2016. Kern has overseen the expansion of the North American research team across multiple office locations, managing the growth of Glass Lewis’ ESG and compensation research offerings, and directing Glass Lewis’ corporate engagement efforts across thousands of meetings and interactions with the 6,500 North American companies owned by Glass Lewis clients.

“Over the last three years, Andrew and Kern have been integral to transforming the capabilities and offerings of the research and engagement team. They have executed our engagement strategy across dozens of countries, encompassing thousands of companies; built widespread and constructive relationships with industry groups and stakeholders; and most importantly, driven material operational and product enhancements, including delivering research into the hands of our clients more than 30% earlier than just two years ago,” said Bertinetti. “These promotions recognize their outstanding contributions and empower them to drive the next wave of enhancements that will ensure our clients continue to receive the most accurate, engaged and timely governance research available.”
